”Allemänsrätt” is an ongoing series of work which is a play on Sweden’s law of The Right of Public Access.

Allemänsrätt/Every Man's Right

Allemänsrätt is, in short, the right to roam freely in the countryside while taking personal responsibility. One can pick berries, flowers, camp, take hikes etc, even on private land, as long as you show consideration for nature, wildlife and landowners.

The literal translation would be EVERY MAN’S RIGHT.

The objects in this series, together with their boxes, explore the balance between freedom/curiosity/exploration on one hand, and exploitation on the other. When does one side tip to the other? When do treasures become prisoners? Who is picking and who is being plucked? Who has rights and who doesn’t?
